iQOO, the Vivo sub-brand known for its gaming-focused smartphones, is gearing up to launch the iQOO 12 in India as the country’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone. This was confirmed by iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya on Twitter.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is Qualcomm’s latest and greatest flagship mobile processor, and it promises to offer significant performance improvements over the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It is built on a 4nm manufacturing process and features a new octa-core CPU architecture with one prime core, three performance cores, and four efficiency cores. The GPU has also been upgraded, and it now supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the iQOO 12 is expected to feature a number of other high-end specifications, including a 144Hz AMOLED display, a triple-lens rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor, and a 4,500mAh battery with support for fast charging.
